Ask "Dear Henrietta" our advice blogger

Do you remember or read the "Dear Abby" column in the newspaper? It is a column where readers mail in their questions and concerns to a columnist for advice. The reader who asks the question is kept anonymous and often signs their question with a clever title about their question like "Disgruntled Georgia Gal". Questions include topics ranging from etiquette, social concerns, faith, marriage, politics, parenting, in-laws, private matters... anything!

What does "Dear Abby" have to do with Holy Hen House? Well, we do not have an Abby but we do have me - "Dear Henrietta"!

I am an anonymous writer at Holy Hen House and would love to connect more with the struggles and questions our readers have navigating through life. There might be other "hens" throughout the world that would like to reach out for advice, comfort, prayers, etc. without posting a public comment, especially with intimate subjects.

Now, I know there are negative associations with "Dear Abby" and the kind of advice that she gives her readers as a secular columnist but it is my hope to lead you to Christian advice that God offers us right in His word.

2 Timothy 3:14-17, Continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it,  and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Here's how it will work:

  • Email me your questions to henrietta@holyhenhouse.com.
  • Each month I will choose one question, answer it and share it with our readers.
  • I promise to keep your email, name and question completely anonymous. Remember I am anonymous myself and respect your privacy!
  • If there is a question that goes beyond my ability to answer I will consult a Pastor or professional counselor.

I look forward to reading your questions!
