Lilla Rose Flexi-Clip Giveaway

Kallie "Hello everyone!  I'm Kallie, and I have been an independent consultant for Lilla Rose for a little over a year.  I also work part-time as a paraeducator during the school year.  I live in northern Iowa with my husband (also my pastor!) and our rescue beagle, Jackie.  In my free time, I enjoy reading, sewing, journaling, baking from scratch in my kitchen, and serving our church as an organist, vocal soloist, and volunteer secretary.

Thanks for letting me sponsor a review and giveaway on Holy Hen House!"

Absolutely Kallie! Today's giveaway includes one item of choice from the Lilla Rose website, up to a $16.00 value. Lilla Rose makes beautiful hair jewelry and accessories that are functional, versatile, and easy to use! Their trademark piece is a one-piece clip, called the Flexi-clip. In addition, they sell o-rings for ponytails, beaded headbands, you-pins, and hair sticks.

I have to admit that I was a bit hesitant to try the Flexi-clip at first. I do not wear much jewelry. My standard pieces of jewelry are my wedding ring, family birthstone ring... and oh, the hair tie bracelet. You've seen it before, the accessory to pull hair back in case of an emergency. I even forgot to take my hair tie off of my wrist for my family's professional pictures! Bah!

I have always had long hair and wear it in three styles: all down, ponytail, or high (really high) messy bun. Braid? Forget it! That's what sisters are for... only we are not children anymore and my sister lives across the country from me. I can't even figure out how to do the classic top knot look that ladies are pulling off these days. So instead of continually looking like the graduate student who was up late studying the night before (when really it was my baby)... I decided to venture down the path of Lilla Rose Flexi-clips in hopes of trying something new. I figure if I can - you can too.

I am surprised at how many styles of Flexi-clips there are! My four year old and I "ooh" and "aah" at the beautiful hair jewelry.

LillaRoseCatologAfter looking through the catalog, I chose a clip that would compliment my day to day clothing - the Classy Oval Flexi-clip size small. It's hard to choose! Sorry in advance for the blurry pictures and selfies. I took the pictures with our video camera as our regular camera recently broke. Looking to buy a new one - any suggestions?

For my daughter, we chose the Tree of Life Flexi-clip size mini. So sweet. The glass pearls matched one of her necklaces perfectly.

Curious how I get my daughter to sit still while I do her hair? I brush and pull her hair back while she is eating breakfast or working on a craft. Doing so keeps her distracted and gives me the time to pull her hair back to stay put for the day. It takes me less than 30 seconds to pull her hair back using a Flexi-clip. At first, it took me a couple tries to get the hang of how the Flexi-clip works but really it is simple. The clips are nice and sturdy so that if I'm forming the clip around thick hair (like a french twist or messy bun) I don't have to worry that it will break or become loose with time.

After we picked out the Flexi-clips that we liked best we had to figure out which size to get. They come in seven different sizes to work in all hair types, from baby-fine to extra-long and thick. Click here to watch a Lilla Rose sizing video and check out their unique hair style tutorials at flexistyles.com!
