Sinners: Imperfect Fruit

Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die.  But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:7-8

This photo may seem an odd choice for this verse, but every year I look forward to apple picking and to picking up a peck of windfalls for sauce. Those apples, tons of them, littering the ground under the trees usually just go to waste because they’re imperfect. Bruised, wormy, underripe, overripe, rotting. But God is the hand reaching out in this photo. He loved us, sought us, imperfect fruit though we are, and in Christ we are made something new. :) Happy Fall, sisters.
