Are you a writer, photographer, artist, or creative?
The Holy Hen House quarterly magazine is an invitation for women to take a step back from online noise (or any kind!) and dwell in the pages of our seasonal publication inspired by God’s Word.
Any interested in using their gifts in our published magazine are welcome to submit content (articles, poetry, art, photography, etc.) for us to consider.
We are delighted to create this resource with other women to dwell on God’s grace in our lives and impact generations for His glory!
The SUBMISSION DEADLINE for the upcoming Spring 2020 issue is JANUARY 15th.
When we hear the word “Hosanna” our first recollection may be Palm Sunday when Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey. Hosanna is a shout for joy and praise! Let’s go farther back. Psalm 118 was written long before Holy Week but it certainly points to it. Hosanna was initially a quick prayer for God to intervene, “Lord, help us!” There is desperation in the voice of the psalmist above. We long for perfection and yet know it is something we will never arrive at in our homes, work, or ourselves.
During Lent, we look at the many ways we fall short. From a stance of humility we pray for forgiveness and ask the Holy Spirit to mature our hearts. For hundreds of years God’s people waited for the Promised One and we are blessed to live on the other side of that answered prayer. God save us! Yes! In Jesus we find salvation. We may still cry for God to help us but we can shout like the children with full assurance that our sins are forgiven and heaven is our home. Hosanna!
